An event performance happens the other end of the corridor, alot of people leave to see it. I ask Tyler and Ryan the time. They come up to me and Ryan whispers 5.03 in my ear. That’s it! fuck it! I think ‘what is 24 hours? how about making a 20 hour performance?’ Dig deeper. Cut off the clock. Cut out everyday time and just be. I give in, I give over to the piece and let myself vibe in it and in the space. I start eating the fabric more, stuffing it in my mouth, it feels great, it feels real, it anchors me.
Tyler: there was shaking by the end of it. It had to have been one of the last times you were going down the back staircase, you reached down behind you and your face looked the most strained I ever saw it. It was just like ‘oh my god I don’t know if I can do that,’ thinking what you were thinking, just how hard it was at that point to reach down behind you and pick up the dress.
Amanda: When Ryan told me it was 5.03, oh my god! There must have been three hours at that stage where I was thinking the museum notice is going to come on, ‘15 minutes to closing’, it’s going to come on any minute, any minute and as the crowd got more intense around me I thought, ‘they all know I’m just about to finish a 24 hour performance’ and then, no, No, NO!
A sup of your coffee

Amanda: Ryan had a cup of coffee. I just went up to him and I know he was kind of like, ‘huuh?’ I was at my biggest at this stage. (I was moving in slow motion almost under water and then in a very normal gesture as I got to Ryan, I just put my hand out for his cup of coffee)
Tyler: Yes, I watched that because you went up the other side of the stairs right towards him and everyone else moved (out of the way)
Liz: I was getting out of your way at that stage. (laughing)
